NBC is running a 3-minute promo of What The Office Did On Their Summer Vacation. I think it is a clever way for the show to explain the hiatus, as well as being entertaining (for essentially a commercial).
CBS annouced today that Jason Alexander will be guest-starring in an episode of The New Adventures Of Old Christine this season. According to the CBS Press Release:
Alexander will play a lizard handler for children's birthday parties with whom Christine goes out on a date.
The Illustrated Man was one of the books I read at an early age that started my love of Sci Fi novels. I'm very glad that it's getting a new treatment in the theaters, and now it has been announced that 300 producer Zack Snyder is the new director. Coming Soon.net says:
Warner Bros. has hired Zack Snyder (300) to direct its remake of The Illustrated Man. The helmer, busy preparing Watchmen for the studio, is attached to direct and produce the remake based on Ray Bradbury's collection of short stories by the same name. Watchmen screenwriter Alex Tse will pen the screenplay.
In a season finale that could have been a series finale, Big Love wrapped up last night. The HBO.com synopsis gives us:
This week, Bill resorts to a new tack to try to bring down his nemeses. Preparing for the festivities surrounding Salt Lake City's Pioneer Week parade, the Henricksons are rocked by the appearance of an unexpected guest. Margene comes clean to Ana about her relationship with "Phil" and then takes up her cause with her sisterwives–and Bill.
Fox on Demand is currently showing the first 17 minutes of the season premier of Prision Break. I believe that the video is only up for a limit time, so hurry over and check it out.

Love was always a little hit-or-miss with me, but these last seven episodes have made me a believer. Easily the best show of the summer. And can we just take a moment to bask in the awesomeness that is Ginnifer Goodwin? That girl is acting her ass off this season. I've already reserved a spot on our 2008 Dream Emmy Ballot for her. Ditto GraceZabriskie, who brings such joy to my life I almost want to hand her a wad of cash every time her nutzilla alter ego shows up on my screen.
I have a strange relationship with Janeane Garofalo. I was a huge fan of her very early standup, she has become a genuinely good actor, and The Matchmaker is my favorite romantic comedy ever. But personally I have never agreed with her extreme politics, or the way in which she attempts to create social change (unlike fellow comedian Al Franken).
In some incredible casting news, the former Veronica Mars has been cast for a 13 episode arch in next season of Heroes. TVGuide's Ausiello has a terrific inteview:
But I have social relationships with a lot of the people that work on Heroes, through so many random connections. So it was sort of funny that so many of my friends had been working on this show. I spent a lot of time with a few of them at Comic-Con. I was actually sitting on the train [back from San Diego] with Zachary Quinto and Masi Oka and some of the writers were on the train and they were like, "Hey, if you ever want to come on Heroes, give us a call!" And I sort of joked back, "I'd love that!" Later on I said to Zach, "Hey, if they were serious, I would love to work with you guys." And somehow, somebody made it happen.
This week, Big Love comes to us a day early. The penultimate episode for season 2 was another solid episode packed with nearly every storyline possible. HBO.com gives the following synopsis:
This week, Bill makes Alby a tempting offer in the wake of Nicki's disclosure about Weber Gaming. Barb learns that her mother Nancy is getting remarried, and decides to use the occasion to try to make peace with her estranged family–and provide traditional guidance to Ben.

At TVGuide.com Michael Ausiello has some casting news for the new season of Nip/Tuck which premieres 30 November on F/X.
Portia de Rossi will be joining the cast for nine episodes playing a lesbian mom whose teen daughter wants to go under the knife [and] John Schneider has been cast as the head of a major adult-video empire who previously worked with ex-porn princess Kimber.
