The Illustrated Man Gets a Director

August 28, 2007 by xgdfalcon

BradburyThe Illustrated Man was one of the books I read at an early age that started my love of Sci Fi novels. I'm very glad that it's getting a new treatment in the theaters, and now it has been announced that 300 producer Zack Snyder is the new director. Coming Soon.net says:

Warner Bros. has hired Zack Snyder (300) to direct its remake of The Illustrated Man. The helmer, busy preparing Watchmen for the studio, is attached to direct and produce the remake based on Ray Bradbury's collection of short stories by the same name. Watchmen screenwriter Alex Tse will pen the screenplay.

I was really impressed with the directing in 300, so having Snyder on board is a plus for me.  I really hope that Illustrated Man doesn't go the way of I, Robot.  Though I, Robot was a good movie, other than the 3-laws and the title, it was nothing like the original source material.
