Even though they are on strike, the WGA has announced their 2008 award nominees. On the list are some old favorites, and some new ones. First, as much as I am a huge fan of Larry David and Curb, his show is mostly improvised. Not to mention, this was a good season, but not a great season.
A pleasant surprise is the inclusion of Penn and Teller’s Bullshit. This is one of those hidden gems that not enough people are exposed to. It is both entertaining and informative. Even if you don’t agree with their conclusions, you have to admire their style.
As it should be, Pushing Daisies is nominated in the New Series category. This is a perfectly written show and should walk away with this award. Nothing against the other nominees, but Daisies is just that perfect.
