Steve Martin's Pink Panther still is the ONLY rented movie that I've not finished watching. My entire family couldn't stand it. I have 5 kids, ages 5-12; they thought it was stupid, and we shut it off after about 10-15 minutes. But, it made money.
Not to mention, Steve Martin has a pedigree that one, two or 10 bad movies can't soil. So, as reported by Variety, he is getting some big names for the sequel.
Andy Garcia, John Cleese, Alfred Molina and Aishwarya Rai are joining Steve Martin in Columbia Pictures/MGM's sequel "The Pink Panther 2." Jean Reno and Emily Mortimer will reprise their roles.
I really hope that Martin saw the first one, saw the mess, and is using this opportunity to do it right. I have the upmost respect for Steve Martin, and would hate for him to be associated with such a terrible franchise.
